Over working, Always on the go, are some of the traits synonymous to Men, it's so bad that most of you find it hard to give yourself a treat, breath or take a break.
Hence, i'm writing this piece to encourage you to practice a little SELFCARE.
What is Selfcare?
Literally, it's something you do to give attention to yourself, give a kind treatment to yourself and maintain a healthy relationship with yourself.
It means doing things to take care of your mind, body, and soul by engaging in activities that promote well-being and reduce stress, while also enhancing your ability to live fully, vibrantly, and effectively.
The practice of self-care also reminds you and others that your needs are valid.
What is stress?
Stress is putting strain or pressure on yourself externally ( not in a good way this time ) so much that it affects you internally. This could reflect Emotionally, Physically or Mentally.
What are the symptoms of Stress?
The symptoms of stress may include;
• Exhaustion
• Rapid heart beat
• Headaches
• Loss of sex drive
• Digestive problems

How do you pick a suitable way to De-stress?
Find out how doing the opposite of what stresses you out affects you, eg: if ovethinking stresses you, observe how letting go makes you feel. If any of the opposite activities help you relax completely then you should consider it as your de-stressor.
Ways to De-stress & Unwind;
1. Yoga & Meditation - Yoga is an intentional movement of the body that leads to the union of the individual conciousness with the universe.
Meditation is a technique used for quieting down the mind, turning your focus inwards and having a moment of an out of body experience.
In this state, you really find out what the body and heart needs at the moment, process your feelings, accept them and nurture yourself back to a better place. Doing these while reciting positive affirmations or mantras, ushers your mind into that positive space and reduces stress.
You might need some practice to ground your self and It's okay if you do not experience changes on your first attempt.

It also changes your brain waves' frequency and puts you into a mild meditative state. Listening to the waves activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which makes you more relaxed.

In a case where you need to switch up your regular work out routine, Taking a walk or Running ( out side the walls of a gym ) is an option you should consider. It also releases a wave of energy boost you can ride on for the whole day.
